In 2017, an all-India campaign to change the National Mineral Policy, spearheaded by Goa Foundation, mines, minerals & People, Common Cause and the Goenchi Mati Movement, demanded from the Indian government a fair and just National Mineral Policy. Natural resources are our shared inheritance.
Subsequently, a new all-India alliance titled Mineral Inheritors Rights Association (MIRA) has been set up. As its name suggests, intergenerational equity is a significant demand. MIRA is also recognized as the coalition representing India at the global movement on extractives transparency, Publish What You Pay.
